The Civil Rights Case Manager, under direction, plays a critical role in the university’s response to allegations of discriminations or harassment based on a protected class, including sexual assault and sexual harassment. The Case Manager reviews all incoming reports and provides objective information about a party’s rights, compassionate and appropriate support and resources, and options for resolving the complaint through the formal or informal processes. The Civil Rights Case Manager supports the mission to create and maintain an environment that is free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
The Civil Rights Investigator, under direction, is responsible for conducting thorough, unbiased, and prompt investigations of allegations of discrimination or harassment in accordance with University policies, Title IX, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Texas state law. Investigations may involve allegations by or against faculty, staff, or students based on a protected class. The Civil Rights Investigator ensures that the University response to civil rights allegations is timely, thorough, and appropriate.

Triages all reports that are submitted and funnels complaints to the appropriate university authority. The Deputy Title IX Coordinator supervises a team of case managers who provide objective information about a party’s rights, connections to support and resources, and options for resolving complaints through the formal or informal processes. Works with faculty, staff, and students on campus and across multiple system agencies.
The Hearing Officer, under general direction, is responsible for conducting hearings related to violations of Student Conduct Code and University policy violations, including those related to Title IX, Title VII, and other Civil Rights laws.
