Advanced Armed Security Officer
The Advanced Armed Security Officer, under general supervision, is responsible for providing a visible, armed security presence throughout buildings and property of Texas A&M University. Monitors cameras and alarm systems and patrols the building and grounds to ensure the safety and security of the occupants.
The Advanced Security Officer – Nights, under general supervision, provides a secure environment for the building, faculty, staff, students, and visitors who frequent the building. Monitors cameras and alarm systems and patrols the building and grounds to ensure the safety and security of the occupants. Works during evening and night hours.

The Armed Security Sergeant, under general supervision, is responsible for ensuring physical safety and security of all visitors, employees, and property at Texas A&M University locations, overseeing the day-to-day operations and supervision of the security staff, and coordinates information to ensure compliance with guidelines.
The Assistant Chief of Police is responsible for the general administration for all law enforcement functions assigned to Field Operations within the University Police Department. Responsible for ensuring that programs are in place to maximize the security of people and property on campus. In the absence of the Chief, may assume overall responsibility for the operation of the department.
The Chief of Police, under general direction, plans, directs, coordinates, and implements departmental goals, policies, procedures, and activities associated with the protection, safety, and welfare of students, staff, faculty, and visitors. Provides a safe environment on campus, thereby protecting life and property. Administers all services provided by the University Police Department including, but not limited to, the campus police function, security function, campus parking, campus access and security systems. Also assists with campus safety programs.
Coordinator, Police Accreditation
The Coordinator of Police Accreditation is responsible for managing and coordinating the department’s ongoing accreditation process.
The Evidence Technician, under supervision, oversees the safe storage, security, chain-of-custody, accountability, and disposition of all evidentiary and custodial property under the care of the department. Responsible for evidence and property data entry into departments’ computerized system and maintains the evidence room.
The Security Manager, under general direction, is responsible for developing, overseeing, and directing the security section and coordinating projects, initiatives, and/or activities on behalf of the Chief and Assistant Chief. Oversees the business-related activities of the existing security contracted services and manages the compliance activities. Supervises subordinate staff.
The Police Cadet, under supervision, is responsible for attending a basic police training program conducted by the Texas Engineering Extension Service Law Enforcement Training Division and includes one week of departmental orientation.
Police Communications Coordinator
The Police Communications Coordinator, under general supervision, is responsible for coordinating activities and supervising personnel for the Communications Unit within the police department and serves as liaison between the department and the University or outside agencies.
Police Communications Officer in Training
The Police Communications Officer in Training, under supervision, receives on-the-job training from Police Communication Officers; handles routine and emergency radio, telephone, and 911 calls for service following special or written instructions for transmitting and routing calls.
Police Communications Officer I
The Police Communications Officer, under supervision, handles routine and emergency radio, telephone calls (emergency and non-emergency) for service following special or written instructions for transmitting and routing calls. Supports efficient operations and coordinates activities between department and external agencies and various contacts.
Police Communications Officer II
The Police Communications Officer II is responsible for providing 24-hour emergency and non-emergency communications services. This position is responsible for insuring officer safety at all times while assisting the public with their needs. The dispatch position is also responsible for maintaining and updating records information effectively and accurately.
Police Communications Officer III
The Police Communications Officer III, under general supervision, handles routine and emergency radio, telephone, and 911 calls for service following special or written instructions for transmitting and routing calls. Develops and administers training for the Police Communication Officer-in-Training personnel. Responsible for maintaining and updating records information effectively and accurately.
Police Communications Officer IV
The Police Communications Officer IV, under general supervision, handles routine and emergency radio, telephone, and 911 calls for service following special or written instructions for transmitting and routing calls. Develops and administers training for the Police Communication Officer-in-Training personnel. Responsible for maintaining and updating records information effectively and accurately.
Police Communications Supervisor
Police Communications Supervisor, under general supervision, supervises personnel for the Communications Division. Serves as a liaison between the department and the University or outside agencies.
The Police Lieutenant, under direction, supervises officers and police personnel and enforces, prevents, and investigates violations of the law and University rules and regulations.
The Police Officer in Training, under supervision, receives classroom instruction and on-the-job training in the Texas A&M University Police Department.
The Police Officer II, under general supervision, prevents and investigates violations of the law, University rules and regulations.
The Police Officer III, under general supervision, provides advanced professional law enforcement skills in preventing and investigating violations of the law, University rules, and regulations.
The Police Officer IV, under direction, provides specialized professional law enforcement skills by giving service, information, and aid to all citizens as circumstances require, preventing crime, suppressing disturbances, investigating criminal offenses, and arresting offenders; trains subordinate officers and assumes supervisory status as assigned.
The Police Records Technician I, under supervision, provides police records support for University Police personnel and the public.
The Police Records Technician II, under general supervision, provides advanced skills in police records support duties for University Police personnel and the public.
The Police Records Technician III, under general supervision, assists the Police Records Supervisor with the management and coordination of records support activities. Provides other administrative support for University Police personnel and the public.
The Police Sergeant, under direction, is responsible for the supervision, training, and evaluation of assigned police personnel in the performance of their field duties in enforcing, preventing, and investigating violations of the law and University rules and regulations.
The Security Captain, under general direction, provides security services to the faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Supervises, trains, and evaluates the Advanced Security Officers and Security Officers positions and coordinates activities of a shift of Security Officers. Oversees the purchasing and issuing of department equipment.
