HR Liaison Advisory Resource Group Charter

Purpose

Human Resources (HR) has established this standing committee of HR Liaisons to collaborate and provide feedback about human resources and payroll processes for continuous improvement and new initiatives in programs, services, and best practices for the seamless delivery of comprehensive human resources services to all university customers.

Objectives

  • Provide feedback on current processes;
  • Brainstorm on compliance issues;
  • Evaluate processes and pilot new programs;
  • Help identify improvements from customer satisfaction surveys;
  • Bring forth ideas or issues that will help advance collaboration of human resources and the university community; and
  • Provide input to HR Liaison Network meeting agendas and be recognized at the fall HR Liaison Network meeting.

Meeting Logistics

  • The Liaison Administrator will serve as chair of the group to plan agenda and keeping meeting on time and on task, coordinate guests as needed, and forward recommendations to HR Strategic Partners or leadership.
  • Regular meetings will be held on a quarterly basis along with an orientation and closure meeting each year. Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed.
  • Human Resources representatives will coordinate meeting dates, time, room assignment and sending appointments to the group.
  • Team members will volunteer to rotate as meeting scribe to record outcomes and action items, and send to Liaison Administrator for dissemination.
  • HR Liaisons will be selected for a staggered two-year term beginning September 1 each fiscal year.
  • A Human Resources representative will serve a one-year term.

Group Membership Process

  • An application for membership will be available early summer of each year. The application form requires the HR Liaison to indicate they have their department head's approval.
  • The group will consist of seven to ten HR Liaisons, the Liaison Administrator, and one Human Resources representative.
  • HR Liaisons employed in positions below the level of director or department head are eligible to apply.
  • HR Liaisons must have completed all required HR Liaison program training and Texas A&M University System-required employee training and have been a designated liaison for at least two years; years of service need not be consecutive.
