SUMMARY
General Description: Identifies, recruits and contributes to increasing the population of admitted and enrolled under-represented students.
DUTIES
Typical: Identifies, recruits and contributes to increasing the population of admitted and enrolled under-represented students; coordinates with high school counselors to facilitate the application process; participates in recruitment activities such as campus trips, application nights and designated area projects; tracks and follows up with targeted students and parents; develops a working knowledge of University information, organization, opportunities and policies; advises prospective students about admissions status, policies and office programs; disseminates admissions information; represents the Office of Admissions and Records in a public-speaking capacity both on and off campus and maintains records of these activities; reviews admission applications; works directly with applicants and their parents to resolve extenuating circumstances, complaints and appeals of admissions denials; reports on programs/projects including publications, accommodations, itineraries, meals, speakers and records; performs related duties as required.
SUPERVISION
Received: Receives detailed instruction and periodic review from administrative supervisor.
Given: May give detailed instruction and periodic review to support personnel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required: Bachelor’s degree or any combination of training and experience. Knowledge of higher education.
Preferred: Master's degree. Working experience with youth and ethnically diverse populations, admissions or recruitment.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES OR REGISTRATION
Required: Valid driver's license.
Preferred: None.

Typical: None.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Typical: Extensive travel required. Evenings and weekend work required. Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication. Organization skills. Capable of lifting heavy weight boxes, drive an automobile and travel independently. Ability to operate a computer.
