General Description:  Supports research or teaching laboratories, farms, or ranches by performing routine manual work.

Typical:  Assists in the preparation and harvest of field plots; collects and records field research data; assists with irrigation of research plots and measures the distribution of water; grinds and mixes feeds; assists with the feeding and care of research animals; performs minor repairs to greenhouses, buildings, and farm and ranch equipment; operates farm tractors and equipment for routine field work; performs related duties as required.

Received:  Detailed initial instruction and frequent review from supervisor.

Given:  None.

Required:  Ability to comprehend instructions. No experience required.

Preferred:  High school graduation with vocational agricultural training or any equivalent combination of training and experience. One year of general farm, ranch, and/or laboratory work.
