ASSISTANT PRINTING CENTER MANAGER

SUMMARY

General Description:  Plans and schedules Printing Center production to achieve a quality product and efficient production flow in the Printing Center and manages the Printing Center in the Printing Center Manager's absence.

DUTIES

Typical:  Develops production standards for each department to use in planning and scheduling work flow; maintains scheduling system showing location and status of all printing jobs in progress; evaluates and plans complex printing jobs to assure time, equipment, and material requirements are accurately determined; coordinates with all Printing Center departments to assure a smooth production flow; checks status of jobs in production to ensure adherence to production schedule; resolves bottlenecks in the production process; compiles and prepares various statistical reports on Printing Center production efficiency; manages the Printing Center in the absence of the Printing Center Manager; performs related duties as required.

SUPERVISION

Received:  General instruction and occasional review from Printing Center Manager.
Given:  General instruction and occasional review to Printing Center Department supervisors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:  High school graduation supplemented by vocational training in printing or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Six years as a journeyman printer.
Preferred:  Associate degree in printing.

Preferred:  None.
