SUMMARY

General Description:  Provides customer support to a service area.

DUTIES

Typical:  Answers the telephone and provides general information to customers; greets customers and provides assistance or direction; receives and processes requests for service; enters, retrieves and verifies data; maintains files and records; receives, sorts, and routes mail; may admit and discharge patients; performs scheduling tasks for patients or service requests; performs related duties as required.

Received:  General instruction and periodic review from administrative supervisor.
Given:  None.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:  High school graduation or any equivalent combination of training and experience. No experience required.
Preferred:   Some experience in general office or clerical work.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES OR REGISTRATION

Required:  None.
Preferred:  None.

EQUIPMENT

Typical:  Use of standard office equipment and personal computers.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

Typical:  Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and/or data entry applications. Keyboarding skills.
