SUMMARY

General Description:  Supervises a large resource center including assisting and instructing students and faculty in the use of the facility.

DUTIES

Typical:  Supervises use of resource center by students and faculty; classifies and catalogs books, reports, periodicals, nonbibliographic databases, and other resource materials; assigns call numbers in accordance with specific system being used; maintains card or computerized catalog; researches and prepares bibliographic materials for faculty; assists students with reference materials and special assignments; orders books and serials; maintains specialized collections and databases; performs related duties as required.

SUPERVISION

Received:  Periodic review from administrative superior.
Given:  Detailed instruction and periodic review of clerical and graduate Student Workers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:  Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Two years in a library or resource center.
Preferred:   Additional supervisory work.
