Supervisor Tools

  • Review Position Description
  • Review probationary period expectations and evaluation plans
  • Establish work & lunch hours and overtime procedures
  • Provide Performance Development form (evaluation tool) for position
  • Review training, development and committee opportunities
  • Review conduct and appearance expectations
  • Provide Flexible Work Schedule Rule and Request Form (if available in department)
  • If Positive Performance Management (PPM) is used by department, review process and place signed acknowledgement in personnel file

Information Systems

Office Environment

  • Provide keys and review security procedures
  • Provide telephone, email and mail service information
  • Order business cards, name tags, nameplates
  • Demo office equipment & locate supplies
  • Review fire drill & evacuation plans
  • Introduce new employee to other departmental staff
  • Arrange guided tour of departmental facilities
  • Review office culture, reward systems, annual events
  • Update department's organizational chart (as appropriate)
