Benefits of the Family and Medical Leave Act

TAMU provides these benefits to employees who qualify for FMLA leave:

  • 12 weeks of FMLA job-protected leave per fiscal year
  • Maintenance of health care benefits
  • Job restoration when employees return from FMLA leave to same or equivalent position

FMLA is an "umbrella" of protection for you and your family if you qualify for FMLA leave because
  • FMLA is a benefit
  • FMLA does not cost you anything
  • FMLA protects your job, health benefits, and pay rate for up to 12 weeks.
