WELLNESS WORKS! has partnered with Texas A&M Rec Sports to offer FREE fitness classes for faculty and staff as part of their Group RecXercise program! These RecXercise classes are held at the Student Recreation Center (Rec), MAP. Remember, you can use your Wellness Release Time, 30 minutes, 3 times a week, for wellness activities!
About the Rec Center
WELLNESS WORKS! participants are required to sign-in at the Rec Center Member Services desk before taking a class.
Rec Parking - Parking is available in Lot 104 (in front of the Rec Center) for 2.5 hours with any valid parking pass and in West Campus Garage after 4:00pm with any valid parking pass. Paid parking is available in both lots at $2 per hour before 5:00pm and $0.50 per hour after 5:00pm. For additional parking information, please contact Transportation Services at 979.862.PARK.
About Piranha Fitness Studio
WELLNESS WORKS! has also partnered with Piranha Fitness Studios to offer select FREE, private and/or blended fitness classes for faculty and staff as part of their Group Classes program. In order to gain access to the Piranha Fitness Studio reservation system, WELLNESS WORKS! participants will need to create an account at http://bit.do/piranha AND send an email to email@example.com (please allow 24-48 hours for account approval). Once the participants’ eligibility to participate has been confirmed (Texas A&M faculty or staff only), participants will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to reserve a spot in the private fitness sessions.
Piranha Parking - Parking is available in front of Piranha Fitness Studio which is located at 315 College Avenue, College Station, TX 77840 (located off University Dr. behind IHOP). No parking permit or vehicle tag is required in this area of the parking lot.

Class Descriptions in alpabetical order:
Aqua Bootcamp - This high energy, water workout is geared to the fitness enthusiast that wants a powerful, efficient, safe workout in the water using the water properties of buoyancy and drag to increase the heart rate, jump-start the metabolism, and build muscle and core strength.
Aqua Zumba® - Aqua Zumba® blends the Zumba® philosophy with water resistance, for one pool party you shouldn't miss! There is less impact on your joints during an Aqua Zumba® class so you can really let loose. Water creates natural resistance, which means every step is more challenging and helps tone your muscles.
Boot Camp - This 45 minute Boot Camp is a high energy, boot-camp style environment that will combine total-body muscular conditioning and circuit-style cardiovascular exercise for a great well-rounded, total body workout for individuals of all fitness levels. Comfortable workout attire is recommended and tennis shoes are required.
Cardio Dance - This class keeps you moving head to toe and sweating to a high-energy blend of music. The easy-to-follow, cardio intensive class keeps your heart rate up, burns calories, and before you know it you will have the body to show for it! Did we mention we have a club-grade sound system to keep the music bumping and the best instructors in town?
Cardio Fusion - 45 minutes of "cardio calorie blasting" exercise plus strength using hand weights, body bars, resistance bands, or medicine ball.
Cardio Water -This 45 minute non-impact environment will help you gain cardiovascular fitness and strength in shallow water (4 ft. deep). Non-swimmers welcome. There will be no underwater exercises. Lifeguard on duty. Swimsuit attire is required.
Cycle 30 - 30 minutes of indoor cycling in your target heart rate zone. Power console measures your calories burned, distance, wattage and heart rate. Bring your water bottle and towel and get ready to ride! Pedals convert to SPD cleats.
Cycling (Piranha Fitness Studio) - This is a rhythmic based indoor cycling class that is guaranteed to enhance your cardiovascular fitness. You’ll ride for 45 minutes targeting your entire body. Not only will you climb hills, sprint, tap back, and push up, but you’ll pick up dumbbells towards the end of class to target your upper body.
Early Morning HIIT - High Intensity Interval Training is a non-stop, face-paced, athletic powerhouse workout that is guaranteed to burn calories, get your heart pumping, and get you fit fast! H.I.I.T. will include cardio & strength-based intervals using the step, BOSU, jump rope, medicine ball, and floor drills. Core and stretching included.
Hardcore Cycle - 50 minutes of indoor cycling in your Target Heart Rate Zone guaranteed to have you reaching for your towel! Heart Rate Monitors provided. Bring your water and towel. Pedals accommodate regular tennis shoes and SPD cleats.
Intro to Ancient Tai Chi (Open Sky Health) - Ancient Tai Chi (Sheng Zhen Gong) is a movement art that feels like dance, meditation, and martial arts combined. It is an ancient art that is foundational to Tai Chi, Kung Fu, and Acupuncture. It builds inner strength, balance, and flexibility. It is for people of ALL ages and physical conditions. The purpose is to connect the body to nature, to calm the emotions, and to lift the spirit. This class is about releasing tension from your body while building strength and balance. Chairs are available for those with back or knee problems. You do not need to change into workout clothes. Your comfortable work wear will be fine.
Kickboxing (Piranha Fitness Studio) -This cardiovascular workout uses a unique blend of circuit training and body sculpting movements including a series of strong punches, powerful kicks, and core-centric exercises. It is guaranteed to get your heart rate up, allow you to tune into your body, and connect with your muscles to chart topping music.
Pilates - This 45 minute Pilates mat session includes classical floor exercises that strengthen and lengthen all the muscles of the body. Plus increases flexibility and enhances posture. No prior Pilates experience is needed, this is geared to all levels of fitness. No mats will be provided, please bring one of your own. Floor is carpeted. Comfortable workout attire and no shoes recommended.
Strike - An innovative and exhilarating full-body workout utilizing drumsticks. Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Designed for all fitness levels, this class provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin’ out!
Weight Lifting - This class introduces the fundamental skills of weight training for personal fitness. Emphasis will be placed on proper techniques, training programs, and the overall benefit of weight training. Redefine your muscles with strengthening exercises using a variety of resistance equipment, for men and women. Equipment may include dumbbells, kettle bells, medicine balls, cables, machines, and resistance bands.
WELLNESS WORKS! Body Blaster (exclusive class for faculty & staff) -Redefine your muscles with strengthening exercises using a variety of resistance equipment for men and women to help redefine your muscles. Equipment may include weights, medicine balls, body bar, resistance bands or BOSU. Abs and stretching included. Body Blaster is a 45-minute class.
WELLNESS WORKS! Total Training - A total training experience including cycle, high-energy cardio, rowing, and strength training. Pedals accommodate regular tennis shoes and SPD cleats.
WELLNESS WORKS! Yoga (exclusive class for faculty & staff) - Strengthen, stretch and balance. Classes are geared toward fitness enthusiasts who want to learn and practice Hatha Yoga. Yoga mats provided.
Yoga - This 45 minute Yoga class focuses on the four pillars of Yoga; strength, balance, flexibility and relaxation. No prior Yoga experience is required, this is geared to all levels of fitness. No mats will be provided, please bring one of your own. Floor is carpeted. Comfortable workout attire and no shoes recommended.
Zumba® - This 45 minute Zumba class is a high energy, easy to follow, cardio dance class that is guaranteed to increase your heart rate and put a smile on your face. No prior dance experience is required. Comfortable workout attire and tennis shoes are recommended.
